Terms for using the quote platform

Last updated 30 August 2026

These terms govern use of Swansea Locksmith Quotes. They explain what the platform does, what a quote means, when customer details are released and the responsibilities of customers and providers.

Platform roleQuotesProvider feesResponsibilitiesLiability

1. The platform's role

Swansea Locksmith Quotes helps customers prepare a job request and compare responses from independent local providers. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the platform is not the locksmith, plumber or other trade business carrying out the work, does not employ the attending provider and is not a party to the contract for the trade work itself.

2. Customer use of the service

Customers must provide information they reasonably believe to be accurate, use the service lawfully and have authority to request the relevant work or access. Requesting and comparing quotes is free to customers and the platform does not add a markup to the provider's quoted price.

3. Quotes, prices and availability

Providers are responsible for their own quote content. A quote should identify its price basis, scope, important inclusions/exclusions and stated availability. Illustrative prices on public pages are not live offers. A displayed quote is not a guarantee of attendance, completion time or final price where the provider has clearly stated that inspection, changed circumstances or additional authorised work can affect the price.

Selecting a quote records the customer's preference. The selected provider must still accept the opportunity through the platform before the parties are connected.

4. Provider fees and release of customer details

Providers may view an eligible opportunity and submit a quote without charge. If the customer selects that provider's quote, the provider is shown the applicable lead fee before deciding whether to accept. The customer's phone number, email address and exact address are released only after the selected provider accepts and pays that disclosed fee.

Provider fee, cancellation, refund or credit rules presented at acceptance or in a provider agreement form part of the provider's transaction terms. A provider must not attempt to obtain or use customer details to bypass the platform or avoid an agreed fee.

5. Provider responsibilities

Providers are independent businesses responsible for the legality, quality and safety of their work; their pricing and tax/VAT treatment; licences or qualifications where applicable; appropriate insurance; customer communications; warranties/guarantees; and compliance with consumer, trading and other laws relevant to the job. Providers must represent identity, credentials, coverage and availability accurately.

6. Customer checks and the contract for work

Customers should review the selected provider's credentials, insurance, guarantees and trade-specific qualifications relevant to the proposed work. Choosing a quote on this site requests an introduction; it does not itself book a visit or enter into the contract for trade work. Once connected, the customer and provider agree the final scope, access, timing, payment and any later changes. Before that contract is agreed, the provider must give the customer their legal or trading identity, geographic business address, total price or how it will be calculated, applicable cancellation information and other legally required pre-contract information. Statutory consumer rights are not excluded by these terms.

7. Cancellations, problems and complaints

If a selected provider declines or cannot confirm the job, the platform may allow the customer to return to other available quote options. Complaints about the platform can be made through support@swanseaplumbers.uk. Complaints about the trade work should normally be raised with the attending provider first, although we may review platform records or provider eligibility where relevant.

8. Misuse and suspension

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, investigate suspected fraud or abuse, respond to legal requirements, or enforce these terms. Users must not submit unlawful or misleading requests, interfere with the service, scrape private data, impersonate another person or business, or misuse contact information obtained through the platform.

9. Service availability and liability

We aim to operate the platform with reasonable care and skill, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, a particular number of quotes, provider attendance or that a provider will accept a selected opportunity. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or affects mandatory consumer rights.

Subject to those protections, the platform is not responsible for losses caused by an independent provider's performance of the trade work or by information outside the platform's reasonable control. Any further limitation applying to provider business use should be stated in the provider's applicable commercial terms.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms where the service or legal requirements change. The version in force when a transaction is made will apply to that transaction unless the law requires otherwise. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable consumer and civil-procedure rules may hear disputes.

11. Contact
